Officer elections for President, Public Relations Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator, and Membership Coordinator were held during our business meeting on Thursday. Congratulations to Bill Clifford (President) & Janet Steinkamp (Public Relations Coordinator). As no one ran for either Fundraising Coordinator or Membership Coordinator we still have those positions to fill. Any member interested should contact an executive board member. Julie Gore was appointed to fill the Vice President vacancy for the remainder of the term.
The revised bylaws were ratified during the business meeting and have since been approved by headquarters. The bylaws page has been updated with a clean copy in both Word & PDF formats.
Alumni T-Shirt Contest
We are reaching the bottom of our supply of t-shirts to sell at marketplace and are looking for help designing the next one. We are sponsoring a contest to determine the design with a $100 scholarship, $50 to the winning artist (member or alumnus) and $50 to their chapter. Look for more details coming soon.
We are looking for people interested in helping with a few things such as planning fundraisers & recruiting new members. Any member interested should contact an executive board member.

Updated Association Meeting & Conference Schedule 10/2/19
The 2019 Iowa Region Leadership/HIA Conference is coming up on October 10th & 11th at the Courtyard by Marriott in Ankeny (same location as Regional Convention was in February).
October’s conference is also our annual meeting, during which we hold officer elections. The following offices are up for election this year: President, Membership Coordinator, Public Relations Coordinator & Fundraising Coordinator for two year terms. To be eligible, you must be a member of the alumni association in good standing (one time dues are $50… past Regional Officers are exempt from the membership fee), and not currently a voting member of an active chapter. If you are interested in running for office, please contact us before October 3rd!!! Please include a short one paragraph bio, so that voters can get to know you. We will be voting at the Fall Leadership Conference on October 10th, and will also be sending ballots for an email vote.
The Alumni Association Business Meeting will be at 7:30 PM on Thursday, October 10th.
We’ll be having our June 2019 business meeting and a social event in Sioux City tomorrow, June 22nd. The business meeting will be at 2 PM at Western Iowa Tech (4647 Stone Avenue) with the social afterwards at 4 PM at Bob Roe’s Point After (2320 Transit Avenue).
For anyone wanting to attend the meeting in person, we will be in room L-404. Park in lots one or two, and enter the building using entrance 4.

Just a heads up that the April business meeting will be on April 22nd at 6:30 pm and you can find all the details here. We’re still in the process of adopting new bylaws as discussed in February and an updated draft is available at that link as well.
